I displayed my work at the
Little Bentley Garden Show
Sat 2 June - Sun 3 June 2007.
I was featured in the DHL Sun Chariot Garden from 21st to the 26th May 2007, painting two flower motifs; Iris ‘Jane Phillips’ and ‘Sisyrinchium striatum.’
Comissions aside, I choose images from dreams, imagination and life around me. Some of these paintings are available for purchase. If you like my art, these paintings are for sale! Have a look; Click here.
What is any art but a mould in which to imprison for a moment the shining elusive element which is life itself? - life hurrying past us and running away, too strong to stop, too sweet to lose.
~ Willa Cather
Welcome to the website of Flavia Stone.
Here I will showcase my paintings and explain a little about who I am and describe my journey to becoming a painter. Art and especially portraiture has been a huge part of my life due to growing up the daughter of Royal Portrait Painter Richard Stone.
After being captured on canvas at age four (click here to view the painting) I always knew I was destined to be in the arts. Having been blessed with my father’s natural artist ability, with every new commission and life experience I discover more about art and my place in the art world.
Please have a look at my work displayed on this website,I am available for commissions. Let me recreate your favorite photo or scene in oil on canvas. I have been commissioned to paint portraits, landscapes, houses, gardens, still life and even pets.
If you like my style of painting I can create a painting just for you. I believe creativity should know no boundaries. Contact me to discuss it!
I worked for my father for several years learning all I could about portraiture and different painting techniques. I guess you could say Art is very much a part of me, both through nature and nurture.
Since setting myself up as a self- employed artist I have explored other mediums and topics, producing work to my clients' requirements. My skills have continued to improve with every new piece I create and now my work can be seen across the globe from England, to Sweden to the Bahamas. Even if the client only has a vague concept of what they want I can work closely with them to explore ideas and produce a piece that exceeds their expectations.
I have always loved painting and so I feel very privileged to be able to do it for a living. I delight in painting and my clients are always delighted with finished result!
Art is like a border of flowers along the course of civilization.
